Guava can not merely be planted in the yard

Guava can not merely be planted in the yard but can also be planted in pots or tabulampot. Well, this time we will discuss about how to cultivate guava in pots. This is how to cultivate guava in pots.

A. Collection of Guava Seeds
Guava can be propagated by grafting or from seeds. Choose seeds that are in good condition and free from pests and diseases, seeds from grafting or sticking seeds are selected which are at least 4 months old. Preferably, the size of one branch of the shoot has reached about 30 cm and has 6 pairs of leaves.

B. Planting Guava in Pots
Choose a large pot with a height of approximately 1 meter, the pot could be made from plastic, cement or used drums because guava plants can grow to a maximum height of approximately 10 meters.

Enter the porous and loose planting media into the prepared planting pot. The planting medium can be a blend of red soil and manure with a percentage of 1: 1.

Plant the seeds in pots, first open the polybag to plant the seeds carefully so the seed media and roots are not damaged. Produce a planting hole in the planting pot and then backfill. Slice the taproot only a little so that the roots grow more and also slice the width of the leaves by 50 percent to reduce evaporation.

If you have finished planting and the planting medium has been compacted, water the plants until water seeps from underneath of the pot.
